The caps are fully hand-made by the Bohra women for their men using the crochet technique. A plastic or aluminium vessel of the required size is used as frame to get the cap started. Fine, stiff cotton yarn of white color and gold color (called kasab) is used. In making festive caps, more of kasab is used. Various motifs consisting of geometrical and floral patterns are stitched to make the cap more beautiful.
